Why Locals Love WARTEK
Nestled in the bustling Pusat Dagangan NZX area of Petaling Jaya, WARTEK offers an authentic taste of Indonesia right here in Selangor. Specializing in traditional Indonesian cuisine, this inviting restaurant has quickly become a beloved spot for locals craving flavorful, home-style dishes that transport you straight to the heart of Indonesia’s culinary heritage.
Step inside WARTEK and you are greeted by a warm, clean, and unpretentious setting—perfect for casual dining with family and friends. Though the Ara Permata location can present some challenges with parking and traffic during peak hours, the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service more than compensate for any fuss. Customers repeatedly praise the friendly staff who add to the relaxing dining experience.
The menu is a celebration of authentic Indonesian flavors that excite the palate at every turn. A standout on the menu is the satay—a crowd favorite and a must-try according to loyal patrons. Tender, char-grilled meat bathed in a smoky, slightly sweet peanut sauce recalls the exact taste of satay enjoyed in Indonesia, evoking nostalgic memories for many who’ve savored this dish abroad. For duck lovers, WARTEK’s Indonesian duck rice is nothing short of superb; succulent duck meat infused with rich spices pairs beautifully with the fiery sambal, delivering a depth of flavor that lingers delightfully after each bite.
Other dishes like nasi ayam penyet, tempe goreng, and an array of sambal options showcase the breadth of Indonesian cuisine with their crispy textures, bold spices, and perfectly balanced heat. The sambal, in particular, stands out—fresh, vibrant, and with just the right kick to excite without overwhelming. Drinks such as teh C round off the meal with a refreshing sweetness that complements the spicy dishes perfectly.
Though pricing may skew a bit higher than typical hawker fare, many diners feel the quality and authenticity justify every ringgit spent. Customers frequently describe the food as “flavorful,” “authentic,” and reminiscent of “traditional Indonesian home cooking.” Whether it’s your first visit or your third, WARTEK’s dedication to Nusantara cuisine shines through in every plate, making each dining experience memorable and satisfying.
For those seeking a genuine Indonesian culinary journey without leaving Malaysia, WARTEK is a true gem. Prepare for a feast that balances comfort, nostalgia, and bold flavors, eloquently capturing the soul of Indonesian cooking.

Major love for this place!! Visited their outlet at Ara Damansara area, parking and traffic was a nightmare but we went tad bit earlier, hence parking was better but the traffic to exit the area was awful, but trust me the food experience made it all worth it The satay is love, and A MUST TRY. Tasted similar to those satay in Indonesia that I had back during my uni days The variety of lauk/sambal was good. My bf who’s not a big fan of Indonesian food pun makan sampai jilat jari Service was good, waiters and waitresses were friendly. The person in the cashier was so polite and accommodating to our queries about the food The ambiance is super clean, duduk dalam and luar pun bersih jee tempat dia. Will definitely go often, you guys honestly broke the taboo of “Indonesians eatery being messy/unhygienic” for my bf and thank you so much for that, sebab it makes me drag him for Indonesian cuisine often, heheh!

My favourite Indonesian duck rice! The duck meat is so flavourful and yummy and pairs well with the sambal Just too bad it's so far from KL Service can be a bit slow during peak time so don't come too hungry Drinks like teh C are really good too The price per person is on the higher side but I think it's worth it

I had a great experience dining at this Indonesian food stall. The food was flavorful, authentic, and reminded me of traditional Indonesian home cooking. I ordered nasi ayam penyet, tempe goreng, and sambal. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, while the sambal was spicy, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The tempe was well-fried and added a nice texture to the meal. The rice was warm and served in a generous portion. The stall was clean, the service was fast, and the staff were friendly. Prices were reasonable and worth the quality of food served. Overall, this kedai is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys authentic Indonesian cuisine with bold flavors and satisfying portions. I would definitely come again.

Came here because of a friend’s recommendation. 10/10, did not disappoint. As an Indonesian, all the foods was tasty and up to our Indonesian taste standards. The nasi kapau was especially good, and the dendeng ijo was very flavorful. Highly recommended!

This place has a nice clean ambiance, live music, and friendly staff. It was slightly warm when we first came in, using ceiling fan. But after a while AC was on, just about time. We ordered nasi uduk, bebek madura set and gado-gado. All were except the gado-gado. The taste of sauce was not to my liking and not thick enough. Overall, we had a great dinner, but parking was not very easy to find.
